Nature and
People working in harmony in Carolinian Canada
Habitat levels in
Southwestern Ontario are the lowest in Canada, creating a crisis
that is affecting water quality and other landscape functions.
Stabilizing the loss of habitat and the species, that live in the
Carolinian Canada Life Zone, is critical to protecting the natural
heritage for healthy, balanced and sustainable landscapes.
Generating and enhancing
the effectiveness of conservation action across the Carolinian Life
Zone takes the spotlight at Carolinian Canada’s “Growing
Sustainable Connections” forum on Friday, October 20th,
2006 at the Elm Hurst Inn, Ingersoll. “The key to saving this
unique landscape is effective collaboration with individuals and
groups who care about our natural lands,” says Michelle Kanter,
Executive Director, Carolinian Canada Coalition. The forum will set
the stage for working together across sectors so landowners,
wildlife and communities can benefit.
Cost to register for the
one-day event is $40 to $70 sliding scale. For more information on
the forum, contact Carolinian Canada Coalition at 519-433-7077 or
visit the website to register at
www.carolinian.org.
Carolinian Canada Coalition
is generously sponsored by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
