The Carolinian Canada Coalition Habitat Factsheet Series is intended to profile local landowners with good conservation ideas . The “Caring for Nature” series are colourful and informative guides for landowners and communities. The series will consist of one factsheet per county. There are currently two in circulation, with a third being released mid-august.
The factsheets:
- Are aimed at landowners who want good ideas about how to start a habitat project
- Offer a wealth of inspiring stories about how people are helping wildlife
- Take some of the mystery out of protected Species at Risk
- Highlight Big Picture guidelines for landowners
- Focus on managing land for habitat, enjoyment and a sustainable income
- Were developed with input from dozens of local stakeholders
- Provide hot links to on-the-ground conservation partners
- Profile leading conservation landowners
- Will be distributed to all rural households and through a peer distribution network
- Bring together information from many sources, so they can save time for landowners
