Carolinian Canada's Privacy Policy

Carolinian Canada is serious about protecting the personal information that you provide to us.  We do not share your information without your permission, outside of co-hosted events and projects where the partners that you are submitting your information to are clearly labled. In such cases, our partners have their own privacy policies which you should familiarize yourself with as well.

Personal Data collected for the following purposes and using the following services:

Analytics - Google Analytics
Our website uses Cookies and collects demographic and usage data with Google Analytics. Carolinian Canada uses this data to help plan our cheritable work, campaigns, newsletters, social media, and programs.

Google provides a tool to opt-out of Google Analytics here.

Website
Carolinian Canada's website uses a content management system which uses cookies to track a user's travel throught the website in order to provide a consistent user experience, and to track user engagement (see Google Analytics above)

Data Storage
User data is stored in a database hosted with a third party vendor. No finantial data (credit card numbers) are stored by Carolinian Canada for any period of time

PayPal
Carolinian Canada uses PayPal standard for most of our payment portals. No finantial data (credit card numbers) are stored by Carolinian Canada for any period of time

Canada Helps
Carolinian Canada uses Canada Helps for some donations, including monthly donations. No finantial data (credit card numbers) are stored by Carolinian Canada for any period of time

Social Media
Our share buttons (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN, Pinterest, Google bookmarks, and Reddit) may connect to the corresponding account if you have it open, but we do not store any of that information

    Contacting the User - Mailing list and newsletters
    address, city, company name, Cookies, email address, first name, last name, phone number, age and profession.  We may use this information to better target our communications

    Surveys
    Carolinian Canada often conducts online surveys where we collect more information from our users. Most of surveys are conducted with Carolinian Canada's content management system software, and the collected data is stored on Carolinian Canada's servers (see data storage above). Carolinian Canada also works with Ontario Trillium Foundation to provide surveys to our users, and links to these external surveys will be clearly marked

    Events
    Carolinian Canada often collects more information through event registrations, similar to that collected for contacting users (above). Any additional information collected is relevant to the event being registered for, or will be used to help analyze event attendence for use in future events and programs

    Program Data
    Participants and partners in our various programs may have other data relevant to those programs collected and stored in order to facilitate and track involvement in those programs (ex. land use data).  All such data will only be shared with program partners where appropriate

    Carolinian Canada keeps a number of mailing lists that are CASL compliant. Once you have been added to a list, you may opt-out at any time.

    By creating and logging into an account at caroliniancanada.ca/user , you can decide which mailing lists you would like to subscribe to by editing your profile.

    Currently, Carolinian Canada Coalition is only adding new subscribers to our Active Network Mailing List.

    All mass-email communication through our mailing lists include an opt-out (unsubscribe) option. Once you have opted-out, you will no longer receive any mass e-mail from Carolinian Canada, even if you are on multiple lists. If you have more than one account with us receiving mail, than you must opt-out of each account separately.

    Carolinian Canada Coalition's General Mailing list includes our legacy contacts and subscribers. Legacy contacts and subscribers receive information about our programs and fundraising initiatives. This mailing list is kept CASL compliant with relation to information and fundraising distribution of electronic mail by a registered charity.
